Every prospective placement is reviewed individually. Adopt a Pet NY may request documentation, pause applications, or decline a transfer when a placement does not appear appropriate, lawful, or consistent with animal welfare.
Applicable requirements
Availability and placement are subject to applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, licensing requirements, housing restrictions, carrier policies, and animal-welfare requirements.
Applicant responsibility
Potential adopters are responsible for verifying ownership requirements applicable to their location and obtaining required permits or licenses. This responsibility does not replace Adopt a Pet NY’ own obligations.
No veterinary guarantee
Available health and history information may be shared, but does not constitute a veterinary guarantee or substitute for examination by a qualified veterinarian.
Contact and updates
Business contact information and the effective date will be inserted through Admin Settings before launch. Material policy changes should be reviewed and versioned.
